Avenue Plaza Hotel: Afternoon Tea

Honestly, I'm not a fan of tea but this experience changed that. Last September 16, Avenue Plaza Hotel held an exclusive event for the launch of the new sets of Afternoon Tea as well as the welcoming of the new chefs of the renowned hotel. The event was attended by the Luxe Club Members comprised of some key personalities in Naga and bloggers.
It was my first time to try Avenue Plaza Hotel's Afternoon Tea. I've been itching to try it since I've heard a lot of good feedback from my friends; lucky me I got invited not just to try one, but all of the three newly crafted sets.
Being the top hotel in Naga, Avenue Plaza Hotel provides the best accommodation and services. The ambiance of the place would be perfect for dates and family get-togethers. Plus, each corner is picture-perfect or should I say, very 'Instagram-able'! Haha.
So let's talk about the new and improved sets of the Afternoon Tea. The Classic was the first that was launched to the public a year ago and because of the demand for it, the hotel decided to improve the said set and add another two - namely the Exquisite and Signature Set.

Each set is served together with your choice of Twinnings tea and beautifully crafted pastries that would definitely entice your eyes and tummy. An array of pastries are served in each set and of course, the price also varies. But I tell you, with the mouthwatering pastries combined with the great atmosphere and service, it's all worth it
CLASSIC (P580) Coffee Panna Cotta, Mudcake, Baba Au Rhum with Pistachio, Boston Cream Cake
Double Chocolate Cookies, Oatmeal Dates Cookies, Avenue Mini Ensaimada, Apricot Dreams
Quiche Lorraine, Chicken Mango Crepes, Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato Sandwich

The Classic Set is the cheapest among the three. I personally love the Boston Cream Cake, Avenue Mini Ensaimada and the Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato Sandwich. Their 'small-but-teribble' BLT Sandwich is so yummy that I had to go back to the serving table for my take two! Haha!

Carrot Walnut Muffin, Mini Brioche Filled with Ube, Mango Yoghurt Terrine, Macapuno Pie
Revel Bars, Mocca Paris Brest, Ube Almond Macaroons, Fruit Tart
Swan Liver Mousse, Croque Monsieur, Smoked Salmon Sandwich
My personal favorite from this set is the Fruit Tart. I commend how they garnish each pastry. Look at that plating, their Liver Mousse is even shaped as a swan! I actually had second thoughts about eating them because I wouldn't want to destroy such pretty piece of art. But my tummy's the priority, not the eyes, so yeah. (^^,)
Silvanas, Macademia Cranberry Tart, Double Chocolate Pudding, Cream Cheese Brownies
Butter Scotch, Cinnamon Swirl, Profiteroles, Scones
Ham, Cheese and Salami Sandwich, Chicken Empanada, Quiche Florentine
Since I'm such a sucker for cinnamon, you would have probably guessed my fave from this set. I also liked the Silvanas, Butter Scotch, and Ham, Cheese and Salami Sandwich.
Let me introduce you the powerhouse of Avenue Plaza Hotel's kitchen - Executive Chef Rudy Velasco and Pastry Chef Paul Oraa. Both are respectable chefs in their expertise and from their experiences and achievements, one could say they are one of the bests - their cooking is a testimony.
Writing this post makes me want to 'experience the good life' once again, and over and over. Visit Avenue Plaza Hotel and try their Afternoon Tea Sets now! Afternoon Tea is available daily at the Cafe Plazuela of Avenue Plaza Hotel from 2PM to 6PM. For inquiries and reservations call (054)4739999.
